Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She is an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this it was announced that she was hired by the CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was often asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was hired as sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She held the same position as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985 in Mexico City. She also has a younger sibling. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter in 1995. Her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, younger Collins was able to take a job alongside her elder sister. As a senior in high school but knowing exactly what she would like to accomplish for her life, Antonietta went to her local University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her requirements. The campus was stunning and provided the education she was looking for. After graduation, she enrolled at the University as a media studies major. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor of WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. He inspired her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She, in turn, strived to live up to the expectations of him and not failed him.
